Academically LGBT

Cornell has a number of different resources for people interested in the study of human sexuality.

Within our Feminist, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (FGSS), we have a program in Lesbian, Bisexual and Gay Studies.

Within our libraries, we have a world renowned Human Sexuality Collection, which seeks to preserve and make accessible primary sources that document historical shifts in the social construction of sexuality, with a focus on U.S. lesbian and gay history and the politics of pornography.

LGBT Groups at Cornell
  • Cornell University Gay-Straight Alliance (CUGSA): a diverse organization of LGBTQ people and Straight Allies.
  • Ga'avah: a Jewish group (currently not meeting)
  • Greeks United: a social and support network interested in providing a positive experience for lesbian, bisexual, gay, and questioning members of the Greek community. (currently not meeting)
  • Queer Student Union: an administrative umbrella organization for the LGBTQ-oriented student social, support and discussion groups
  • Lambda Law: a student group focused on the needs and interests of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community at Cornell Law School.
  • LBQ: support and discussion group for women
  • Mosaic: multi-ethnic discussion and support group
  • OUTreach: a social/outreach group for anyone in the Cornell community interested in coming together around issues of being male, gay, bisexual, and transgender.
  • Out in the World (OIW): a social organization primarily for graduate students, but open to all. (currently not meeting)
  • Women Out in the World (WOIW): social group for women open to all. (currently not meeting)
