CUGALA (Cornell University Gay And Lesbian Alumni) provides an opportunity for gay, lesbian and bisexual Cornellians to meet, socialize, network, and support current students, GLB programs on campus and the university. CUGALA provides a network of and for lesbian, gay and bisexual alumni, a yearly newsletter, and numerous opportunities to socialize with and support other alumni, as well as current students, faculty and staff.
The Cornell University Gay and Lesbian Alumni Association (CUGALA)—a network of more than 1,700 Cornell alumni, staff, faculty and friends—provides opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender Cornellians to meet and socialize, as well as to support current students and LGBT programs on campus. CUGALA is a constituent member of the Cornell Alumni Federation and participates in the Cornell Club Alumni Association Board in New York City.
CUGALA members are located around the world and include alumni of all ages.
Regional contacts organize events in Boston, New York City, Ithaca, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Chicago, Miami, San Francisco and Los Angeles.

Reunion: CUGALA coordinates and publicizes special Reunion events on campus every June in cooperation with the LGBT Resource Center and the Cornell University Library Human Sexuality Collection.
Social and Educational Events: Occasional get-togethers are arranged by CUGALA groups in the localities listed above. These include brunches, faculty speakers, gay pride programs and International Spirit of Zinck’s nights, as well as events co-sponsored with other Cornell alumni organizations and with gay alumni bodies of other colleges and universities.
Career Development and Networking: CUGALA cooperates with Cornell Career Services to bring alumni to campus to meet with students and to enable students to meet with alumni in their home communities.
Undergraduate Support: CUGALA has supported such on-campus, student-directed activities as the Y2Queer Conference (April 2000) and the 30th Anniversary of Gay Student Organizing (April 1998).
Partnering with the University: CUGALA and its members support and cooperate with the LGBT Resource Center, Human Sexuality Collection, LBG Studies Program, LBGTQ Student Support and Outreach and other activities that serve or are sponsored by campus LGBT communities.
CUGALA Library Endowment: Since 1983, CUGALA members—through their Cornell Fund donations—have given generously to an endowment that helps to purchase LGBT-oriented materials for the Library and its Human Sexuality Collection (HSC). Members also have assisted the HSC to acquire archival materials.
CUGALA keeps in touch with its members through e-mail notices and occasional mailings.
All members of the Cornell community may participate in the CUGALA Listserv, an e-mail forum.
